Glastonbury Festival has become a really popular and largest open air music festival in the world. This festival is known for its variety of entertainment. Contemporary music, theatre, circus, cabaret, comedy, feature dance and many other arts. If you are planning to celebrate this glastonbury festival 2010 with your family or friends so you need to figure out few things before you pack up for the fair. If you go by your vehicle so you need to park it far from the boundary and you will not able to sleep in it because it is not allowed. But if you hire motorhome so it will be very easy to enjoy that festival. You can sleep in it, you will have the electricity, and a totally home like environment.
To use the allocated fields in the place there for Motorhomes and caravans, you will need a special ticket. These will available for an an additional fee, and they can be purchased at the same time as your Glastonbury Festival 2010 ticket. Although only one is required for each motorhome, every person staying in the motorhome does also need a weekend Glastonbury Festival ticket. You will not get entry without it so buy it before time.
Motorhomes must have suitable facilities, means the motorhome must have built in fitted sleeping facility and either built in cooking or washing facility. If you have any converted vehicles so it must clearly be live-in vehicles. It totally does not mean simply a van with a piece of foam cut to size for a bed, and a bucket for washing. Campsite staff and security staff teams will check that motorhomes and caravans coming into these fields and it should have bona fide living accommodation. No other converted vehicles will be allowed onto these fields under any circumstances - not even the late replacement vehicles in the case if there is a breakdown. If your vehicle is considered
unsuitable for the motorhome/campervan fields which includes unconverted vans, so it will not be allowed entry and will be sent to one of the festival car parks - and security patrols will not permit sleeping in any vehicles in these car parks, so you need to have motorhome which is really a living type vehicle.
Facilities which will be provided in the motorhome and caravan fields are water, waste-water containers, toilets, and a food trader open 24 hours a day. The fields are surrounded by steel shield fencing and patrolled by security staff. They will not provide electricity to field users.
Glastonbury Festival does not rent motorhomes to ticket holders, or even they have any arrangements with contractors to rent caravans. You can of course hire a campervan and bring it to the Festival, provided you have purchased a weekend Glastonbury Festival ticket and a motorhome ticket.
The one and only access to the Motorhome and caravan fields is via the 'Blue Route', along from the A37. With your motorhome ticket you will be sent a windscreen sticker, which will permit your vehicle access to the Pylle Road via the Blue Route, and allow you to park in the fields allocated. You can get the access from 8am on the Wednesday before the festival. In the end for exit, Blue Route becomes one-way outbound from 2pm on Sunday afternoon until 6pm on Monday evening and no vehicles can access the motorhome and caravan fields during that interval of time. So do not leave the motorhome and caravan fields in your vehicle and expect to get back to the fields during these times because you will not be able to get in.
You cannot camp beside campervans or cars due to the risk of contiguous fire and fire officers will not allow this to the ticket holders but you can camp behind them, it is permitted. You can bring a extra large RV or bigger motorhome however, for all vehicles longer than 7 meters will be mandatory to purchase two caravan/campervan tickets, to cover the extra space required.
The things that are not allowed in the festival place is glass items, generators and many other items specified in the terms and conditions in the weekend tickets. Security members decision will be ultimate so be careful.
